The definition of “miniature” makes the title of miniature Hereford a little deceiving. These animals cannot be compared to a miniature horse, they are not THAT small, but they are smaller than the standard size Herefords of today. These cows are closer to the size that the breed was in the 1950’s, before bigger is better took over. They work well for small farms and people wanting to raise a few cows on their small acreage.
We have both horned and polled (naturally hornless) Herefords and like certain traits in both types. Our main goals are to raise animals that are hardy, low maintenance and productive.
