Since the last post I wrote was about this now-giant baby, it seemed like a good re-starting point to talk about him. Yes, this is the calf from the Jersey Calf post that was written so many months ago. Hard to believe isn’t it? He is a coat color called mulberry but, as you can see, even mulberry Jerseys are born fawn colored. They gradually change and get darker until they are almost black with an underlying hint of reddish brown. Interesting and deceptive, you never know what you’re going to get with that little newborn.
Here we go again! I had a site for the farm, but seem to be having some technical difficulties at the moment. This may become the new farm site, or it may just turn into a blog, it’s up in the air right now. There had been some…let’s call it encouragement…from some people (really just one) to start writing about the happenings on the farm on a regular basis. The technical problems with the old site just might be the push I needed to start in that direction.
